On November 13, 2010, we participated in the Light the Night Walk. It was the first year we participated in this walk as we normally do the Lymphomathon Walk at the Phoenix Zoo.
One reason for trying this walk was because this walk is held on Saturday night versus the Lymphomathon which is held on Sunday. The other reason is because this walk raises money for lymphoma as well as leukemia. Ty's friend Corey has been battling leukemia for a couple of years and another friend of ours has a daughter who is currently battling leukemia. The red balloons were in memory of a loved one and the gold balloons were to support someone currently battling a blood cancer. The group was small this year but we have supported the effort to raise money to help fight lymphoma and leukemia since 2006...the year Billy was diagnosed.
